Becoming a Board Member
Our Board is crucial to the growth of PIFF as an organization and our members play key roles in ensuring that we are in good standing with both the community and within the rules and regulations that guide nonprofits.

Qualifications for service for all Board members
Past or current engagement with food systems or agriculture-related nonprofit organizations
Interest in and willingness to support PIFF’s goals and objectives
Commitment to diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging as a focus for PIFF
Ability and willingness to participate in meetings and respond to emails in timely manner
Ability to research and pursue funding opportunities while in communication with rest of Board and PIFF staff
Initiative and ability to start and finish projects
Integrity and willingness to have difficult conversations
Analytical ability and sound decision-making ability
Sensitivity and awareness of issues that impact those around them
Ability to organize and monitor work, both of self and others
Collaborative and willing to follow when others lead
Ability to easily use email and other technology, such as cloud services
Commitment to open, honest, and consistent communication
Commitment and ability to support PIFF’s fundraising goals, including connections to personal and professional networks
