Becoming a Board Member

Partners IN Food and Farming (PIFF) is looking to expand our Board of Directors to help guide our mission of fostering a more equitable and resilient food system across Indiana.

Our Board is crucial to the growth of PIFF as an organization, and our members play key roles in ensuring that we are in good standing with both the community and within the rules and regulations that guide nonprofits.

If you are passionate about supporting local farmers, advancing food equity, and making a meaningful impact in Indiana’s food systems, we encourage you to apply!  Your leadership can help make PIFF grow and deepen its impact.

For more information on the roles or to nominate someone, contact us at info@indianafarming.org or porchea@indianafarming.org. We look forward to growing our board with dedicated individuals who share our vision for a just and thriving food and farming system!

Our commitment to equity

Partners IN Food and Farming is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, political orientation, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. We strongly encourage applications from people of color, people from working class backgrounds, women, LGBTQ people, or those who are members of other marginalized communities. Data shows that women and BIPOC candidates more frequently do not apply to a job because they don’t feel that they meet all of the qualifications listed. Our job descriptions are general overviews, not a mandatory comprehensive list. If you feel passionate about our efforts and believe that you have the skills to contribute to the growth of our  organization, we want to hear from you!

A day in the life at PIFF

Our employees work remotely and are expected to be located in the state of Indiana. What does this mean?

90% of our meetings are virtual and held between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm EST. Some meetings and events are held outside of those hours but these are scheduled in advance to ensure full participation. This comes with the expectation which means that we work on a flexible working schedule and we do offer limited comp time.

Travel is expected of all PIFF employees and the amount is dependent on the role. We offer mileage reimbursement but expect employees to use their own vehicles.
